The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) looks for qualified, energetic professionals in a wide range of fields to join us in our efforts to promote international cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space. UNOOSA offers a variety of assignments, including: providing substantive secretariat services to the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) and its subsidiary bodies; providing technical assistance to Member States in matters concerning space science and technology and space law; and organizing training courses, workshops, seminars and other activities involving capacity building and the applications of space science and technology in areas such as basic space science, basic space technology, human space technology, satellite navigation, remote sensing, disaster management communications, tele-health/tele-medicine, and space law.

Internship: Committee, Policy and Legal Affairs Section (Reference: 14-LEG-UNOV-36487-R-VIENNA)
The internship is for two months starting in September 2014 with an opportunity for extension, pending on the needs of the Section. The duties include drafting and preparing official documents, legal/ policy research, and assistance in preparing travaux preparatoire for the United Nations principles on outer space.
